I would incorporate hitting off of a tee into the training program. I would also get a video camera and video them and look at their swing frame by frame with the connector and then their swings without the connector. My training concept would be as follow: loosen up, swing with the connector into the heavy bag, swing into heavy bag without connector and then continue this rotation. Now do the same thing on the tee. You can do this anywhere if you use wiffle balls. It does not matter where the ball goes, you are looking for their postion at contact. With two kids, they can put the balls on the tee or assist the hitter while you video the event. You will be surprised what they can learn when they see a play back on the big screen tv.
