Hi Chris,

That problem has cropped up in my son this Fall season.
What I have been working with him on is recognizing that this is a fixable problem and a place for improvement and getting ready sooner and being more ready mentally to hit that first pitch. Like, take a few more seconds before getting in the batters box. Before stepping in the batter box, size up the situation, look at the pitcher, know where you are going to stand, know how to get your plate distance sooner, etc. Be ready to hit that first pitch. I am also hoping that this will help him be "more ready" for the pitches later in the count.
