Hi Teacherman,

I feel very much diametrically opposed to your insinuation that the hips turn less than 30 degrees on an effective swing. Just look at clips at Bonds, Hack Wilson, Reggie Jackson, ad infinitum.

Simply put, the more force you can swivel your hips over a 2 pi / 90 degree turn, the more power you can create. In other words, the more one turns, the more time they have to accelerate.
