Batspeeds of Major League Hitters

Posted by: George () on Wed Apr 11 09:58:29 2007

Anyone. Does anyone know the batspeeds of any of the great hitters or hitters in todays game. I think it would be interesting to compare a David Eckstein to a Mark McGwire who had a batspeed on an ESPN game of 100. A few years back I saw where Griffey Jr had a batspeed of 95-96. I also noticed that the batspeed tended to drop when a curve or offspeed pitch was thrown. Perhaps this is because some hitters pause in relation to if they are fooled slightly.
