locking front elbow

I was watching the Griffy_Analysis and noticed that his front elbow is locked out very early in is swing. I have a girl (10 yrs old) that does this same thing and I have been trying to break her of this. Is it a good idea for a young hitter that is learning how to hit to have there front elbow locked before contact? Refer to clip below.
