You may want to check out a sports store near you that lets you try the bat at a batting cage or in their store before you buy it.

Most states that I know have resorted to the -3 bat and/or the 2 5/8" barrel. It's up to you if you want to shell out money for two different bats.

Here's a piece of advice: If your not a good hitter to start with, your bat isn't going to change that.
