Re: Swingmate Readings

"Any tips on how to set up the Swingmate while hitting into the bag. I am not getting a reading using a metal bat. Do I need to put it in front of the bag to get a reading??"

Hi Jeff,

Place the SwingMate about 1 1/2 feet behind the bag and about 1 foot outside of the bag and angle the SwingMate slightly inward to the bag. Also, the batter should stand so that the bat extends a few inches past the outside of the bag (so that the SwingMate can read the bat as it approaches the bag). It would also be a good idea to put a small piece of duct tape on the bag so that the batter has a contact point and will hit the same general area every swing. Next, line the SwingMate up with the bat at the point of contact.

Actually, hitting a bag is one of the most consistent ways to obtain consistent readings. The picture below will give you an idea as to the set up. If you have any other questions, let us know.
