Re: Hitting Worries...

Posted by: scott () on Sat Apr 27 06:48:09 2002

I have been hitting under the ball alot and I've done a few different things to change but nothing has worked. In BP I drive the ball but not in the games. Any recommendations on something new to try. I think that a bigger stride might be affecting my eye-level. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks alot.

You are probably dropping the back elbow, effectively swinging in an uppercut. This usually happens when trying to get more power by adding more torque. Something good to correct this is the fence drill. What you do is stand next to a fence, and place the knub on your stomach, and the end of the bat parallel to the gro und touching the fence. With the correct swing you should miss the fence, but if you drop the back elbow, you will smash your bat against the fence.
See if that helps.
