P.S. I should have mentioned that in this swing, the wrists never break or roll or anything. The bat ends up behind my right hip (I'm a lefty), with the palm of my bottom hand still facing down the same way it was at the beginning of the swing, and the bat-head facing straight out the side.

>>Tom we talked about this before what tightensthe hand path, you I think were talking about the hands tightening and the lean back allowing it to come through further back which I touched on years ago.I was feeling like the elbow was pulling backcoming across tight keeping the body back or creating the lean back but now though my cue is still the elbow pulling the handpath tighter it is as you say the lead scapula that is powering the pull back. The elbow is half way between the hands and scapula and though I teach retraction of the hands for a tighter handpath I tell them the elbow is pulling it back which it just feels like to me but the elbow is being pulled by the scapula, again if they understand the whole process they can make more sense of the cues but how much can you feed 17 y.o.The elbow cannot have much power but it seems to cause immediately reaction to hands and is a link between scap and hands and allows the right feel to allow scap to work instead of hands.
