Mike Austin golf swing

Posted by: David Hicks (hicksdav@yahoo.com) on Fri Jan 7 07:28:18 2011

The world record holder for longest drive in a professional competition (515 yards) essentially uses the same principles as rotational hitting. He calls it a "double pivot" which is both a pendulum action of the hips while they are turning. It is very similar to Ted Williams' loading move which he talks about in The Science of Hitting.

Austin also said the key was in the hands and advocated applying torque from the top of the swing and having the top pass underneath the bottom hand at impact.
