I don't understand your point. You say to be "leery" of advice from "buddies" or other peopole and that we should look at HOF hitters to decide what is correct.

Yet, I don't think there is a subject on this site that you don't have an opinion about? You post on almost every thead. Are you a HOF hitter? If not, why does your name appear on more threads then Jack Mankin?
