Any suggestions on how to correct a long swing?

If you do wrap, you most notice it is not necessary for great batspeed. Usually people who wrap the bat around their heads are primarily bottom hand torque hitters with a long swing, Hope this helps you.

Assuming , after decision to swing that you still have enoufg time to swing (and that's a big if), more shoulder/hip seperation will result at what Epstein would call the "torque position". So bat wrapping has nothing to do with bottom hand torque, and if anything could be considered an extreme extension of what you all call "top hand torque".

For rotational hitting, during the 4th frame the hands continue in the circular path. For the linear hitter, during the 4th frame the top elbow starts extending almost out of it's "L" position. Sopme bat speed is lost, some accuracy is gained, and the pitch is contacted a little bit farther out in front. This is a "long" swing, and yet ironically these same coaches think it's short!!!

At stride foot landing or at heel drop?
