Now there were a few monster flys that cleared the fence and some very hard grounders, but very few line drives. And from what I could tell, few, if any other than my son, were using true rotational mechanics. Although I do believe there are degrees to which some were using rotational principals combined with linear mechanics. Those were some of the better hitters. I was just amazed at the lack of line drives being hit.

The same is true for my team. I can confidently say that the hitting types worked out as follows: 10% line drives (most of which were low line drives) 10% long fly balls (mainly hit by one guy) 5% pop-ups and 75% ground balls. I ask guys "How do you think you swing?" "Well, I swing level, because an uppercut causes pop-ups" or "I swing down, in order to get on top of the ball and hit line drives" (logic?) With the team's abysmal record, I think some decent hitting instruction is in order.
