Re: contact with outside pitch

Posted by: rql () on Sun Dec 8 11:39:41 2002

I would like to hear everyone's comments on where to make contact on the outside pitch? I have had an on going discussion about this with my daughter's head coach.
> Also if practicing off a tee, where would you lineup your players to practice this? He has the players lineup with the ball starting at their belly-button and then striding to hit it and this seems wrong to me to make contact at your back hip or close to it.

Dan,I like to sit it in relation to me so that when I make contact I hit the back of the ball.As my bat comes around in the circle it should be perpendicular to the ball.If I had to pick a little late or a little early,I would pick a little late.
