Jack,

Where have I said "solely"?

Jimmy,

How can you look at the clips at this link...

http://www.recruit.hittingillustrated.com/RunningStart.htm

and then question whether it happens or not.

To a one of them the barrel goes rearward at launch. Some have a larger running start than others....but EVERYONE of them sends the barrel rearward at 'go'.

At to...

""I challenge you as well to make your own video trying to torque the barrel rearward to try to hit a ball in front of you.""

You are greatly uninformed. I, as most all mlb players, have no problem torquing rearward and hitting the ball. Unless you try you won't understand how it works. And because it attacks deep into your theory....you won't try it. You can have that much egg on your face. lol

I've posted my student doing it. We reached the conclusion that that is how it's done in the fall of '06. He was away at college so it didn't help him in the Spring of '07 (had no time to work on it). Within 2 weeks of him being home for the summer he was filling the gaps with doubles and triples and he hit 6 HR last summer........he had NEVER hit a HR before in his life. The ability to square the ball, (which, if you don't torque rearward at 'go' you have never squared the ball optimally) deep in the zone, and hit to all fields with power.

Here is one of the longest HR's ever hit in that particular park.

Notice the barrel's path at "go". Notice the batspeed "behind" him. The barrel blurs rearward in frame one after "go"....leading to deep contact an excellent 'squaring'.
