It has nothing to do with more distance over which to rotate....or more distance over which to apply force.

It has EVERYTHING to do with the stretch between the upper and lower body.

Brute strength is not the ticket. A mechanical advantage is.

That is not achieved with a closed front side.

I recommend you watch video of the best hitters.

I also highly recommend you cease and desist from analyzing swings relative to toe touch or heel drop. Neither represent a significant point in the swing.

Learn to recognize the "go" frame. The point of no return. The point from which the swing can no longer be checked. And compare everything they do to that.

If you do you will reach more accurate conclusions.

Of course then you have the two greatest of all time doing it different than you suggest. In fact, the exact opposite of what you suggest.

Both land with an open front foot.

Both land with hips already open.

Both hvae their hips opening from the end of their coil. In other words.....very early.

Both are using that opening to create separation.

Which leads to the instantaneous launch and spend.

The only way to achieve both a high level of bat quickness AND speed.
