Just because the are out 7 times out of 10 doesn't account for how many times they hit the ball very hard. That is all that they can somewhat control.

They probably hit the ball hard on average 6 or 7 times out of 10 at bats to hit .300

I guess you'll say that there is still room for improvement, or that there must be better hitters out there other than Major League hitters.
