Jack,

Agreed, I think that the forward movement happens at "go" not in the stride. I do think that the hands are being rotated inward with the shoulders turn inward but I don't know if you are actually hiding them from the pitcher.

I don't advocate walking away from the hands. IMO they turn in with the inward turn of the shoulders.
