Greetings Bob,
As for your first question, Steve Ferroli, Ted Williams, and a physicist have deemed tracking of a baseball nearly impossible, while the latter observation is clearly an exaggeration in showing top hand torque is a finesse move, and not a power move.

Although I do not believe in every detail of these resources, I highly recommend buying them--if you do not already possess them--not for purposes of discipleship, but for observation.

You Can Teach Hitting (videotape) Dusty Baker

I sincerely hope these resources may enlighten you more in future endeavors, and wish you success.

Sincerely,
