The momentum does not go to zero before weight shift.

The momentum becomes predominantly rotational before "go". Bonds and Williams are opening their hips from the time coil turns to uncoil....and that happens without pause. <<<

You really need to study the information in the links below before continuing. The laws of physics that govern linear momentum (p=mv -- our present discussion) are very different from those that govern angular momentum (L= r x p).

With linear momentum, momentum approaches zero as velocity approaches zero.
With angular momentum, momentum approaches zero as the angular displacement rate approaches zero.

Teacherman, whether or not his hips are rotating, has no bearing on Bonds' linear momentum (p=mv). As an example, a stationary gyro can rotate at a very high RPM and have zero linear momentum.
