Toti,

I think you are observing the sit to hit technique that many hitters use. Paul Nyman many moons ago observed that players would compress their bodies in the manner you describe and then uncompress them as they were swinging. Likened it to getting out of a chair. If you have tried it and it is working it I would stick with it.
