Linear and Rotational Mechanics

Posted by: Brett (brblakey@iberia.k12.la.us) on Mon Apr 21 08:43:56 2008

I am fairly new to the game of softball (Coaching for 2 yrs). Lately I have heard some coaches talking about combining Linear and Rotational Mechanics and saying that it was better than strictly rotational. I would like to know what is a combination of the two and how can it be better than strictly rotational. From what I've read and what I learned in my biomechanics classes, strictly rotational is the way to go. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
