Well, certainly, lets not forget, he's still eight. But, the first thing that comes to my mind and, Jack would certainly have more insight on this but, to me, he's cutting across the ball.
If someone is executing rotational hitting, they shouldn't be cutting across the ball. Normally when that occurs, it's due to the hands casting away from the body and, hooking it.I'm assuming he's a right handed hitter?
One of the staples of rotational hitting, is staying inside the ball with the hands and, not cast them away or, around the ball.
