Hands inside the ball is simply keeping the barrel of the bat close to your body. You shouldnt throw your hands or cast your hands away from your body when swinging at the ball.If you cast your hands away from your body they will now be outside the ball and you will more than likely make contact with the handle of the bat and break more wood than you would with a compact swing which keeps hands inside the ball, and allow you to make contact with the sweet part of the wood bat.No matter the location of the pitch you need to keep your hands inside the ball to hit it where its pitched.
