Stiffening of the lead foot

Posted by: Dave (NYTino20@aol.com) on Sat Apr 9 23:42:18 2005

Hi, I am really interested in getting my mechanics down. I went out today with some friends and really tryed focusing on keeping my lead leg stiff while swinging. My question is (I am right handed) should my lead foot be pointed towards where the 2nd basemen would play?? Or should that lead foot be completley sideways?? It's just way too awkward to have the lead foot sideways. I just hope I'm not opening up my hips too soon by pointing it to where the 2nd basemen would play. Also my 2nd question is should all of my weight be on my back foot as I am swinging and making contact?? Any answer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
