This is a very interesting topic. I just stood facing parallel to a wall, shoulders lined up perpendicular. I told myself to rotate just my shoulders so they "square up" to the wall or become parallel to the wall. I didn't think about lower body at all. I just rotated my shoulders. Sure enough I look down and my legs and hips are looking like a good baseball swing's legs and hips at contact. Front leg straightened, back leg L, etc. This tells me that the mind doesn't have to really "think" about what the hips/legs should be doing consciously. It tells me that certain aspects of the swing just HAPPEN. Certain body parts and muscular activity are on "autopilot". I wonder what is the king movement(s). What is the movement that creates everything else to be on "autopilot". I'm sure it IS the circular hand path and staying connected. I think it all comes down to perception of power and what the mind perceives as power and what actually is a powerful swing. The goal is bat head acceleration certainly not knob acceleration.

I am starting to think that lower body mechanics don't need to be taught. They can be drilled to perform BETTER but they don't need to be drilled to execute in the swing. I'm still very confused if you could not tell by this rambling of a post but I think I am starting to get a few very important things. What do you all think??
