Re: Shrugging the shoulder?

> It sounds so simple when you talk about shrugging your shoulder yet I am having problems with understanding the concept. So far I understand its a loading mechanism used to unleash power and speed, but I do not understand how to shrug your shoulder. For example, shrug your shoulder counter clock wise, clock wise, on a upward arc, downward arc, etc. See my mind's complications? Please put it in an understandable perspective for me. Thank you for your time.

The concept I use to teach this skill is this.
You are a boxer your top hand is in the launch position just under your ear. You change the position of your hand to deliver a body blow
but: you do this using primarily the body to change the location of your top hand. If you do this correctly your front shoulder will automatically "shrug". The trick is to not use the arm muscles to relocate the top arms position.
