Scott,

What I dont understand about your argument is the fact that you say Jacks theory is a new theory. Rotational Swing Mechanics have been around for years.....Jack has just broken it down and put science behind it. Its very simple really. Look at this overhead of Rose...jeeeeez.....nuff said http://www.youthbaseballcoaching.com/mpg/Rose.mpeg . Scott, you have put up a valiant argument but you dont have a leg to stand on. The best hitters are using these mechanics PERIOD. Look at this clip of Chipper.....Jeeez, this is a picture perfect example of the mechanics that Jack teaches http://www.youthbaseballcoaching.com/mpg/Chipper01.mpeg . I guess your gonna pull out of the sky that Chipper is Linear BAH !!!! He hits for average too, not just a homerun guru. Just agree to disagree and keep teaching kids to hit soft singles and I will teach my kids to flat crush the ball. Just my 2 cents. And I sincerely dont mean to be a smart a** but your just so closed minded that it is hard not to be.

> show me where a guy like Giambi gets perpendicular to the flight of the ball...when i look at his swing i see a concerted effort to stay inside, to stay to and threw the ball...nobody is purely linier and nobody is circular, the two extremes...there are degree's of ellipse, your better hitters have a tighter ellipse, your longer swingers at times, your homerun hitters (Bonds aside) tend to have a more rounded (longer) path to the ball...if your just talking about generating as much bat speed as possible why not take a small crow hop in the batters box...why not employ a discus throwers rotation...?
