BTW, I agree with what you said about feeling your weight on the back foot and using a powerful rotation. Letting bugs be bugs and focing on the hips (trunk/torso).

I don't focus on the complete 'L' with fastpitch hitters, or getting the back knee too low. They may come close at times, but just getting the butt into the swing is better than worrying about the bug under the foot, the bug dies because of lower body rotation (IMO, or dies a more natural death).

I believe you mentioned you are a bigger man, and bigger men (bigger torso's) usually come closer to a complete "L", strong backside rotation.
