> how do you calculate the speed of a baseball if it travels 400 yards in 4 seconds? do you use d=rt

400 yards = 1,200 feet
1,200 feet divided by 5,280 feet/mile = .22727 miles
4 seconds divided by 3,600 seconds/hour = .00111 hours
.22727 miles divided by .00111 hours = 204.75 miles/hour
