Hi Tom

I do not agree with the “karate chop towards the baseball” analogy. That infers the batter uses the arm and the un-flexing of the elbow to accelerate the lead-hand to contact. You may find that action with average hitters, but the best hitters do not use the un-flexing of the elbow. Their elbow remains at a fairly fixed angle. It is shoulder rotation that accelerates their hands.
