>>> Hi Tom

If you watch the best hitters they stride first and in relationship to their body move their hands backward (inrelationship to the the ground the hands remain still) then they trigger their hips and then the hands start to move forward. You can not get power from your hips if they are being PULLED along by your hands. Which muscles are bigger the quads, hamstrings and hip flexors or your biceps and shoulder muscles? Which part of your body can generate the most power? The fastest shoulder rotation happens when the upper body is not pulling along the heavier lower body.

Jack you can comment if you want to but I think this is more along the lines on the top hitters.

A drill for the player above would be to get his hands to 'load' and then accelerate through the swing. My best guess is that the hands are getting ahead of the hips too early and loosing velocity by the time he gets to contact. <<<

Hi Dave

No need for a comment. You stated it well and I concur with the points you addressed.
