weight shift involvement....

Hello,
I am new here, well not really, I have read everything on this site many times in the past, I almost completely agree with all of Jack's teachings about the swing. But I play slow-pitch softball, and I think that swing is slightly different than the baseball swing, and I know since I said that you are all just going to click next thinking he isn't a baseball player he probalby doesn't know anything.

Anyway, in my swing I can generate quite a bit of power and batspeed, and I attribute that to a lot from Jack's site and a few others, but one of my theories about when a player takes a small step, and slides his hips forward(while keeping his shoulders and bat back) he loses some of the power than can be generated by good mechanics but that this is overshadowed by the gained power from "Dynamic" muscle tension. This extra power can be displayed by just doing a simple bench press, stop the weight on your chest, and then lift, and the next time, without bouncing it off your chest, lift with one continuous motion. The Dynamic power your muscles contain, can add a great deal of power to your swing.

In know way am I trying to say weight shift is the way to go, I am just trying to "Load up" my swing for powerful rotational mechanics.
