Rolling your wrists

Posted by: You know it... () on Wed May 23 11:14:11 2001

My coach has this theory of rolling the wrists at contact. I know that this is wrong, however, he says that it will make your bat more level as it comes across the plate. He says the bat should be like this line ---- simply straight across. To achieve this level swing he says I should pull the top hand over the bottom hand.

I am wondering if my bat should be level as it crosses the plate, or is it okay if the bat head is a little bit lower than my hands. If you look at the power hitters today, it seems as if their hands are always a little higher than the bat head , especially on a low ball. Coach says we should have the bat level everywhere, and I am not sure if this is a good thing.
