Thanks for the help everyone. I found the local high-school coach and asked. I believe it has to do with running on the outside of the baseline. This will make you further away from the catcher if they should try to throw. You don't want to swing the back leg over the base because you could trip. Therefor, if you use the left leg you set up on the outside; where the right leg would be the inside. Makes sense to me, what about you? OH and you only have to have one foot on the bag. If your front left foot is touching the edge you don't have to worry about the right one in back touching. Thanks again!!!!!
