Re: Timing/concentration

Dan,

Therein lies the crux of good hitting, you can be fundamentally rock solid, but fundamentals without rhythm will get you nowhere.

There is no set rule regarding when each and every hitter needs to start, Paul Molitor with next to no pre-pitch rhythm could start very late compared to say Eric Davis, or Jose Bautista (not sure if that's his name, the hitter that would start completely open with his hands at his waist)...its a feel that can only come with massive live repetition at live AB's. It’s the part that really can't be broken down with terms like THT/BHT ect, but without it I don't care how great your bat speed is you WILL NOT HIT!

TIMING AND RHYTHM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF HITTING!

My advice to you, hit more! Remember the quote from Williams after his career was over…when asked by a reporter if he could do it all over again, what would he do differently, his reply, "I'd hit more!"
