I haven't found any discussion on the board regarding slow pitch hitting and was curious if the video available on this site would apply to the slow pitch "swing" and be helpful to my girls?

See Bob Campbell's the art of hitting slow pitch softball. One of the main key's in hitting the slow pitch softball is holding the angle prior to contact. If you observe the power hitters in slow pitch you will notice that prior to contact the best power hitters use some form of a slight backward motion in order to align the cocking of the wrists. At this point the bat angle is held, and the swing is initiated. The concept allows for a smooth transition from back to forward. The late Charlie Lau stated that the launch position was a necessary once reference point once the lead foot hit the ground. From that point a total powerful rotation takes place.
