FJ,

If you are going to spend all that time coaching kids, you might as well spend a little time this winter reading. :-) Probably enjoy coaching that much more next spring. Good luck and good reading.

frank jessup,

and you remind me of the coach who thinks a cut-off man and a relay-man are the same thing. the coach who, right now, couldn't write down at least 10 different ways that a pitcher could commit a balk. the coach who tells his pitcher and short-stop to forget about the runner at second, who has a lead half-way to third. the coach that allows his third baseman to stand on the bag holding a runner at third. the coach that doesn't have a defensive play in the book for a first and third situation, when the runner at first breaks for second. the coach that doesn't know the difference between linear and rotational hitting. etc., etc., etc.

i've seen plenty of coaches, who don't know their *ss from a hole in the ground, who justify their position by being so sanctimonious as to believe they have the right (and the ability) to impose their values (without confirmation or consent)on someone else's child.
buddy, you just leave the parents teach their kids "life's great lessons" and bone up on your baseball.
