Swinging late or wrong hand angle

Posted by: Chris (chriss@yahoo.com) on Tue Mar 16 10:55:35 2010

One of my better hitting 7 year olds consistently hits to the opposite field and fouls quite a few pitches that way. He never pulls the ball and at most will hit to center field. Is this even a problem? It seems to be a sign of swinging too late (reaction time)but could it be wrong hand angle (bat head trailing). I have a feeling video might answer the question but thought I would throw it out there anyway.
