Re: Re: Digitizing Video Help

I know Shawn and Jack have alot of experience at capturing analog video on a PC, maybe they or anyone can help me. I need to capture VCR video on my PC and synch it with other digital video, then I would like to store these on CD for future playback. I have enough PC and I have a CD burner. What else do I need? Are there any web sites that could help with these types of questions?

> You need a video capture card w/ software. I use a Pinnacle card and software about $60 at ubid.com. This will create an video AVI file on your PC. You need a VCR or Video camera to connect to the video input card. Once you have the AVI file you can load it into a program called Swinger about $70. Swinger allows you to have multiple windows, draw lines, circles, slo-mo, etc. You can then save the files to CD etc. I use Animagic GIF $25 to create animated gif files which can be posted on the web.
> That about does it. I have a VCR sitting on top of my PC. Again about $30 from ubid.com. It is easier than fiddling with video cameras and detaching and attaching the cables. It takes some study and practice to use the Pinnacle software. I can now create an edited AVI file in a couple of minutes.
