""""joe when i stride i turn my foot in and swing to get the bat around quicker. you could say i have no step when i stride. and as for my bat i think this way. if i hold the bat straight pointing to the sky that would be 90 degrees. so if i keep bringing the bat down it would be flat on my shoulder, 180 degrees. it would basically be a straight line.""""

If your bat is flat at launch--it's not the optimum position to swing at a mid-to low strike with an inside stroke. IMO a habit of adjusting to pitch height by bending the knees alot (or dropping the rear shoulder too much) will result. The chances of getting a good swing plane. It's better for the bat to fall from a steep into a flatter arc rather than having to move up and out to go from a flat angle to a steep one.
