joe when i stride i turn my foot in and swing to get the bat around quicker. you could say i have no step when i stride. and as for my bat i think this way. if i hold the bat straight pointing to the sky that would be 90 degrees. so if i keep bringing the bat down it would be flat on my shoulder, 180 degrees. it would basically be a straight line.

Jimmy,

If you have no stride then a stance with your feet shoulder with apart might be to close. the determining factor is if you losing your balance. But I would perfer a little wider, maybe 3 or 4 inches with no stride.

I think we are confused about this degree thing. If in your stance the bat is on your shoulder parallel to the ground this does not seem like a good positoin. But the important thing is where is it before you start your move to the ball. It should be pointing away from the pitcher something like this > o if you were looking at the batter from the other batters box. (that o is your head). Your back elbow should be pointing down just before you make your move to the ball.

Does this help do did I make it more confusing?

Joe A.
