Hitting Inside of Ball

Posted by: Matt Kistner (mgkistner@earthlink.net) on Thu Oct 25 21:14:20 2001

My son has always been taught to "Hit the inside of the ball" with the hands forward. He makes good consstent contact. However, he consistently hits to the right side without much power. I think it may be a lack of full shoulder turn (Ike to Mike). He is using standard hitting mechanics of "slapping the hands down" etc.

Any opinions on the "Hit the inside of the ball" philosophy (hands forward)?

Thanks
