I'm confuseed. I thought I had a grasp of the proper swing type but the more I read the less I'm sure. I was always thought to stay back on the ball, for example, when the pitcher is in his/her windup stride to your back leg, head over your right knee. When the pitch is on the way, drive through the ball with a level swing plane hinging your front elbow keeping it close to your body. End your swing with your top hand off the bat and a full extension of the lower arm and bat.

What confuses me the most is the hands through first versus the hands in side the ball. What is the difference and can any explain the positioning for hands inside the ball?
