Initiation, Jack?

Posted by: The Black Hole Lexicographer (Knight1285@aol.com) on Mon Jan 7 22:49:45 2002

Dear Jack,

In previous posts, I have discussed two ways of rotating around a stationary axis: using both hips directly, and turning the front heel towards the catcher. However, while choice of these mechanics are pretty much privy to personal tastes, I wonder if you recommend TURNING HARD or just INITIATING THE TORQUE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SWING, AND LETTING EACH MECHANICS TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES. If I initiated these with proper forces, am I correct in assuming they will continue for the balance of the swing, without need to consciously turn throughout the swing?

Sincerely,
The Black Hole Lexicographer
