I'd say make sure his hands are going directly at the ball. Using a hitting stick can show your son the proper direction that the hands must move in order to strike the ball most effdiently. Keeping his shoulders level is a very important facet of hitting remember as the shoulder drops so does the bat head and the hands



Sounds linear to me. Am I missing something?
