Don't listen to these other two characters. They don't know what they ae talking about.

A reverse pivot is a major problem and no one can hit with a reverse pivot. It is a ticket to the video-game arcade and an invitation to not return to the ballfield, delivered by the head coach.

Work in a mirror on hitting the top of the ball.

Don't worry about swinging down. Swinging down is bad, but we need to fix the reverse pivot first. Good weight shift, hit the top of the ball.

You can swing slightly up and still aim of the top of the ball.

But aiming for the top usually fixes reverse pivot immediately, promotes weight shift and lots of other good things.

Leaning back at or after contact is not something to practice. If it happens fine.

But that is not this man's problem, I bet. It is the hips rotating forward and the head rotating back. That's a reverse pivot. Get them both going in the same direction.

Don't listen to people who use say you should conciously lean back.
