> ya....he could be swinging with too much of an uppercut....so in the deep zone his bat is below the ball, resulting in weak pop ups to the right side....and when he is in the front zone, his bat is above the ball, resulting in weak ground balls to the third baseman and shortstop......i know this because i just realized this was a huge problem i have recently encountered.....all i have to tell myself is swing down on the ball.....and when it feels to me like i am swinging down....people actually tell me it is flat to a slight upward tilt that matches ball plane.....hope this helped...let me know if this was actually the problem....

It is b/c he is opening up too soon and trying to time the contact. I've taught him to rotate since I know how much trouble kids have doing that, that I probably havn't stressed driving through the ball and hands through the zone
