Re: Re: Re: Swing Blip

My daughter has developed a blip in her swing. The bat jumps over the ball then levels off on the follow through, sort of like a heart beat on a moniter can anyone help? Her timing is right on but the bat seams to "hop" over the ball.

What you are describing is due to "rolling the wrist"...which causes the bat to "jump" over the ball...her hands are also tight on the bat so that the wrists get into a "bind"...so when she swings, the top wrist and hand rolls over the bottom and the bat jumps, you can duplicate the effect quite simply...

The fix is to flatten the bottom wrist and loosen the top hand grip so that the bat rotates inside the fingers at initiation of the swing...she is also probably trying to make contact "out front" and consequently "throwing the bat" out to the ball...this is a common problem with easy fixes...just duplicate the effect then reverse engineer her swing and you will be able to fix it using the Mankin stuff.
