Re: switching styles

I have an 11 year old who uses linear mechanics and is the middle of his season. Should I wait until the season is over to start teaching rotational hitting?

Relearning a swing will set the hitter back in the short term. How important is the season? How high level is the team? will a month's slump affect making allstar teams, etc.?
You might be best served reading and learning and working on your own swing for now to get a feel for this stuff. Then you'll have less experimenting to do on your son.
Then after the season work with your son. Meanwhile get some videos of him currently to compare against later.
